# Holdfast

> A native iOS and Android Bible memorization app that helps people learn Scripture by heart through focused daily practice, honest recall, and spaced review.

Holdfast is published by Fremdly. The current release is a private beta on TestFlight and Google Play internal testing, not a public App Store or Play listing.

## What Holdfast is

- Supported practice (read, blanks, first-letter cues) kept distinct from recall
- Spaced review that returns a passage when it is due
- Local-first private practice content; optional account backup and restore
- No ads and no sale of user data
- Native iPhone and Android apps only — this website is not a web app

## What Holdfast is not

- Not a public store listing yet
- Not a place that invents Scripture text, commentary, or translations
- Not a social feed of your study
- Not a web version of the practice

## Practice loop

1. Notice a passage and keep it in a library
2. Practice with as much support as you need
3. Recall without the words in front of you
4. Return when spaced review says the passage is due

## Pricing

The current beta does not charge to install. That is not a promise about later subscriptions. There is no public pricing page because there is no public paid plan to sell. Store billing, if it appears, is handled by Apple or Google.

## Privacy, briefly

App recall attempts, mistakes, notes, and private recordings stay on the device except content a person deliberately includes in feedback. Optional Firebase account backup stores saved passages and a review-schedule summary. The public website uses Google Analytics for page views on the existing Firebase web stream in project scripture-by-heart (same Analytics property as the iOS and Android apps; advertising signals off). Browsers sending Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track are not tagged.
